2014 Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tire series by the numbers

The 2014 edition of the Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tire series came to a crescendo at Sonoma Raceway with the steady Gabby Chaves and late-charging Jack Harvey both completing the 1152+ miles of the season deadlocked on 547 points.  Chaves and Harvey each scored four wins in 2014, so the title was decided by whomever had the most second place finishes.  By a margin of five to one, Chaves led Harvey in that category.  You can pour over these stats all you want, but in my opinion Chaves winning the championship comes down to one thing, his prowess on the two staples of North American open wheel racing: ovals and street circuits.

If you missed any of the great action this year, you can watch all of the races on the Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tire YouTube page.
